National Meeting of Porsche 356 Club Deutschland

As is tradition, German Porsche 356 enthusiasts get together at the end of the summer for a meeting in a beautiful region of Germany. This year they headed north to the Viking town of Schleswig on the Schlei fjord.

From all over Germany 75 teams arrived with beautiful classics, many on their own axles. Others arrived at the hotel with a police escort. There was also a former original police Porsche attending.

The participants were warmly welcomed at the Waldschlösschen Hotel and after a traditional sour herring snack, the tour of Schleswig begun. On foot, of course.

The highlight was the big outing on Saturday - this year it was a roadbock drive with a total distance of 158 kilometres. Early in the morning, the vehicles were polished once again and the sleep was wiped from the eyes. The speedometer was set to "zero" and off they went.

Along the Schlei, past the filming location of the German TV serial "Der Landarzt" (The Country Doctor) the tour led towards the Baltic Sea. There the teams were greeted by a heavy downpour. The weather improved for a photo and coffee stop at the Habernis beach bar and off they wen to Kalleby for a midday rest.

At SWOBODA "Fahrzeugkultur" there was a guided tour of the restoration workshop. After enough time for expert talk, admiring, joking and interchanging, the second stage towards Glücksburg - after the speedometer was reset to "zero" - awaited. Past the well-known moated castle of Glücksburg, which is popular with people wanting to get married, along beautiful villages, the landscape offered views of the water again and again. One or two photos were taken through the windscreen. Passing Flensburg, the 356 enthusiasts enjoyed the tour and returned safely to the hotel in the late afternoon.

Now it was time for a little wellness and relaxation before everyone met again for the gala evening and the wonderful meeting in Schleswig was brought to a lively close with a little dance.

The team of the northern region put in a lot of effort to the 356 Germany Meeting. The Global Community Management of Porsche AG was on site with Stephan Griese and Linda van Dyk from the national Community Management.
